The Eyre Peninsula is a triangular peninsula in South Australia. It is bounded on the east by Spencer Gulf, the west by the Great Australian Bight, and the north by the Gawler Ranges. Originally called Eyre’s Peninsula, it was named after explorer Edward John Eyre, who explored parts of the peninsula in 1839–41. The coastline was first charted by the expeditions of Matthew Flinders in 1801–02 and French explorer Nicolas Baudin around the same time. Flinders also named the nearby Yorke’s Peninsula and Spencer’s Gulph on the same voyage.

This week we take you with us to swim with sea lions and do shark cage diving with Adventure Bay Charters off the coast of Port Lincoln in the Eyre Peninsula. We then found one of our favourite free camps to date, making the most of the summer weather and empty Eyre Peninsula Beaches.

Myself and the crew set off in five 4x4s on a 2600km trip up the Eyre Peninsula all the way to the beginning of the Great Australian Bight and back through the Flinders Rangers on the way home.

In this first episode we explored the beautiful Coffin Bay National Park, went on some fishing adventure, and did our own take on a beach cooking show!

This is Episode 3 of a 3 part series of our 5 week Road Trip to the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia.

In this episode, we stay at the magnificent September Beach located in the Lincoln National Park at the Southern Tip of the Eyre Peninsula. The water is a beautiful aqua blue and the camp grounds are flat and spacious.

After enjoying 4 days relaxing, we then head to Tumby Bay to explore their beautiful painted Silo and painted muriels. We also head out under their Jetty in the search of Leafy Sea Dragons.

We then head off to Cowell and then onto beautiful Historic town of Burra.

On the way home we have a stop over at Broken Hill.
